Therefore, it is important that you use the correct printer settings, also known as printing preferences or properties. Refer to the instruction sheet that came with your paper for the proper settings. If you are using the correct printer settings and still do not like your prints, click here to request assistance.

T-shirt Transfers

Q: Can I use the White T-shirt Transfers on dark fabric?
A: No. Printworks White T-shirt Transfers cannot be used on dark fabric. The transfer sheet is transparent; so all colors will be distorted if ironed onto a dark color. We suggest you use the Dark T-shirt Transfers for application onto any color fabric.

Q: Can I use the Dark T-shirt Transfers on white fabric?
A: Yes. The Dark T-shirt Transfers are a transfer sheet that has a white background and can be used on both white and dark/colored fabric.

Q: My T-shirt Transfer would not stick the shirt or cracked after drying. What can I do to prevent this?
A: The key to a good transfer is using the proper printer settings, temperature settings and pressure. The list below contains tips and the most common mistakes when using T-Shirt Transfers.

  1. Make sure to use the correct printer settings.
  2. Make sure iron is set on MAXIMUM COTTON temperature settings. Do not use steam.
  3. Iron on a HARD, HEAT-RESISTANT SURFACE. Do not iron on a padded surface ironing board, towel or rough surface. You may use a thin flat pillowcase between surface and T-shirt if needed.
  4. Use both hands on the iron to provide UNIFORM, FIRM PRESSURE.
  5. Iron for the correct amount of time based on the size of the transfer.
  6. Make sure to select proper media setting (t-shirt transfer, photo quality inkjet paper, or 360dpi) from print menu; check your printer manual for additional printing instructions.
  7. When printing dark/black images with Epson printers, use 390dpi print mode, and wait at least 24 hours before washing garment.
  8. Not recommended for HP DeskJet 1200C or 1600C models, as they apply heat.

If you follow these instructions, you should get a quality transfer. If you still experience problems, click here to request assistance.
